Today, respiratory diseases are quite common among the population. A significant portion of them is associated with an increased sensitization of the body and allergic processes. This is due to increased allergization resulting from the action of negative factors, primarily of endogenous origin, such as pollution of the external environment with chemical substances, the abuse of medications, consumption of food with preservatives, dyes, flavorings, constant contact in households and workplaces with chemical substances, and so on. Therefore, the therapy of such disorders is of great importance in the routine work of doctors of various specialties.

Within the project, current issues of today were addressed among the audience of doctors from various specialties: otolaryngologists, pulmonologists, allergists, and family doctors.

The report on modern principles of treating allergic rhinitis accompanying acute viral respiratory diseases was presented by Bohdan Nazarovych Bil, the chief expert in otorhinolaryngology of the Department of Health of Kyiv City, Honored Doctor of Ukraine, Head of the municipal scientific and practical center of endoscopic rhinolaryngology, Head of the ENT Department, Candidate of medical sciences, Associate professor of the National Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education named after P.L. Shupyk. The specialist thoroughly highlighted the etiology, pathogenesis, and basic methods of treating allergic rhinitis, emphasizing the features of using the modern antihistamine drug Tigofast and its advantages over other anti-allergic preparations.

Tigofast contains fexofenadine as the active ingredient in doses of 120 and 180 mg. Unlike many antihistamine drugs, fexofenadine does not cross the blood-brain barrier and does not have a sedative effect. An additional advantage is its high selectivity specifically for H1 histamine receptors, as well as the presence of anti-inflammatory properties.
