On 12 June 2026, a large-scale scientific and practical online event was held. The event was dedicated to the issues of reproductive function implementation in patients with endocrine and autoimmune pathology, preconception preparation, and correction of gynaecological disorders.

The conference brought together leading experts in obstetrics, gynaecology, endocrinology and reproductive medicine to discuss the most relevant management strategies for patients with comorbid pathology.

The key issues raised by specialists during the discussion included modern algorithms for preconception preparation of high-risk women, possibilities of non-hormonal correction of gynaecological disorders, discussion of the 2025 ADA recommendations on the management of patients with overt and gestational diabetes mellitus, as well as problems associated with prediabetes in women of reproductive age. Special attention was paid to thyroid diseases during the planning period and during pregnancy.

A separate block of the programme was devoted to discussing modern strategies for restoring and maintaining the vaginal and intestinal microbiome as an important component of the overall programme for preserving women's health. In their presentations, the speakers emphasised that the summer period, characterised by changes in dietary habits, travel, emotional stress, and an active lifestyle, is a time when the health of women of reproductive age requires maximum attention and support. That is why the modern approach to managing such patients includes not only correction of endocrine disorders, but also a set of measures aimed at maintaining reproductive health and the physiological balance of microbiota in the woman's body.

According to researchers, the "gut–vagina" axis is a complex system of bidirectional communication and interaction between the gastrointestinal microflora and the vaginal microbiome. It has been proven that disruption of the physiological balance in this system can cause women's health disorders. Understanding these interactions has enabled specialists to significantly revise approaches to the management of many gynaecological conditions, particularly recurrent infectious and inflammatory processes. This, in turn, has strengthened the role of probiotics in strategies aimed at maintaining women’s reproductive health. Therefore, restoring and maintaining the physiological balance of the vaginal microbiota remains a highly relevant issue in modern clinical practice.

Florium®-A is a complex of five strains of lactobacilli that are part of the normal microbiota of the female body: Lactobacillus crispatusL. gasseriL. jenseniiL. rhamnosus and L. acidophilus, with a total of 11 billion CFU* per capsule. The food supplement Florium®-A may be recommended as an additional source of probiotic microorganisms in diets aimed at supporting the intestinal and vaginal microbiota.

During the discussion, it was recognised that the timeliness of detection and correction of vaginal infections in women of reproductive age, particularly during pregnancy planning, remains especially relevant. An important component of effective therapeutic strategy is the identification of aetiological factors and mandatory differential diagnosis. Given that vulvovaginal candidiasis remains one of the most common conditions encountered in gynaecological practice, the problems of effective and safe sanitation of the genital tract in pregnant women and women at the preconception stage remain in the focus of specialists' attention.

When choosing a treatment regimen, it is important to consider not only the presence of symptoms, but also the patient's characteristics, reproductive plans and concomitant conditions. One of the topical therapeutic agents used for the aetiological treatment of candidal vulvovaginitis is Femifucin® (natamycin). Because natamycin acts locally and is not absorbed through mucous membranes, it is well tolerated and has a high safety profile for the foetus.

Femifucin® (natamycin) is a medicinal product with antifungal action. Its place in therapeutic strategy is determined by the physician according to the clinical situation and current guidelines.

Thus, modern reproductive medicine requires a comprehensive approach to the patient: from the control of endocrine disorders and preconception preparation to timely correction of gynaecological conditions and maintenance of physiological microbiological balance.
