The new study involved healthy volunteers aged 18 to 60 years. Placebo or vitamin supplements containing folic acid 2.5 mg, vitamin B6 50 mg and vitamin B12 1 mg were given the participants. Volunteers in masks were exposed to air pollution on Toronto Street where heavy traffic.

The scientists collected blood samples of participants. The study has shown that vitamins saved volunteers from the negative air pollution effect. The researchers emphasize that further research is needed.
