Creation of piroxicam nanoform

The oral immediate release drug was created by using nanotechnology on Nanoform Finland's GESS platform in association with the UK-based Quotient Sciences group.

By the end of the second quarter of 2021, it will be known how effective the new form of the old anti-inflammatory drug is. According to the company, in vitro and in vivo results have shown that by reducing the particle size of the drug, the pharmacokinetic properties of piroxicam can be improved significantly. This will help to increase its bioavailability and solubility. If the test confirms the effectiveness of "nano-piroxicam", it will be commercialized by Quotient Sciences.
