Treatment of hypertension helps to reduce the symptoms of Parkinson's disease

Previous studies have shown that Parkinson's disease is associated with hypertension. In addition, scientists said that some drugs lowering blood pressure, reduce the risk of Parkinson's disease. Experts from Great Britain and Italy have decided to find out whether the markers of Parkinson's disease are different in people with hypertension and without it, Zee News reports.

The researchers have studied a number of parameters, including symptoms of Parkinson's disease. The scientists have found that people with hypertension have more severe manifestation of Parkinson's disease compare to the people who did not suffer from hypertension. Participants with hypertension had more pronounced motor symptoms, such as muscle rigidity.

Experts note that further study is required. However, they believe that pressure-lowering drugs may be useful for people with Parkinson's disease suffering from hypertension.
