Analysis has shown that aspirin helps cancer tumors to survive

According to Rossiyskaya Gazeta, numerous studies have shown that aspirin can fight against cancer. However, a group of American scientists doubt this. They have found that acetylsalicylic acid really inhibits the growth of malignant cells. But at the same time it accelerates their mutation, thereby negatively affecting the outcome of therapy.

Scientists analyzed the growth rate of colorectal cancer cells in vitro. The cells were treated with different doses of aspirin and a placebo solution. So, a malignant cell practically lost the chances of cloning when treated with aspirin. In this case, aspirin increased the evolution potential of cancer, if it was a colony of tumor cells.

Since aspirin provoked the accumulation of a large number of mutations it allowed a cancer to spread more efficiently and made the treatment less effective. The conclusion is unequivocal: if there are many cancer cells in the body, then aspirin can aggravate the disease.
