Staphylococcus aureus may be a cure

Scientists have discovered a bacterial toxin that promotes tissue healing. Globally, one in four people carries millions of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria on the skin and mucous membranes of the upper respiratory tract without even knowing it. But there are cases when a harmless carrier can turn into a severe infection of the skin or lungs, resulting sepsis (more often when a person's immune system is weakened).
Scientists from Germany have conducted a research of the mechanism of molecular defense of the human system in the fight against infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus and made an amazing discovery. The set of toxins, with the help of which Staphylococcus aureus damages cells and tissues, also has a positive effect. The pathogen toxins stimulate specific immune cells, macrophages M2, and thus begin to synthesize special substances that will help to reduce inflammation and promote tissue healing. The scientists believe that this mechanism may help to design drugs for inflammatory skin conditions and chronic wounds.
